Add the Pantone Color of the Year to Your 2017 Wardrobe

Pantone, the authority on color, announced the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year: Greenery. The “zesty yellow-green shade” is more than just a color this year. “Greenery burst forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose,” explains Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.1
With these themes in mind, here are four ways to freshen your wardrobe and incorporate Greenery into your 2017 fashion palette.
For the Office
If your company’s dress code is business formal, don’t fret! Most boutiques won’t have yellow-green suit sets (that’s probably a good thing), but you can use Greenery as an accent color. Neutral black and gray suits need some livening up, so Greenery can be your go-to blouse. Add a few accessories and pumps, and you’re good for cocktail hour, too.
Clean, straight masculine pants are another perfect addition to your office wardrobe. Stylish, oversized trousers paired with a tie-neck verdant blouse is a perfect outfit to include in your office wardrobe.
Go lumberjack-chic on Saturdays and Sundays with a green plaid motif that includes Greenery, deeper shades of green and blue. For a Saturday night out on the town, branch out from the LBD and go for a green, fit and flare dress that screams spring and new beginnings.
A new 2017 look wouldn’t be complete without adding Greenery to your workout wardrobe. Loud leggings are the perfect statement piece to rock at spin class or be the shock of color that inspires you to lace up your sneakers and train for the race you’ve always wanted to complete.
If you’re just not into green, you don’t have to go wild head to toe. Take a step back and insert the Pantone Color of the Year to your wardrobe in subtle ways.
Add a pop of Greenery to your wardrobe by incorporating it into your jewelry. Fun necklaces, rings and bracelets are an easy way to pull the color without full commitment. Take inspiration from Kate Spade. The enamel-filled glass stone pendant is set in a gold chain, giving a gorgeous and classy way to welcome the color into your wardrobe this year.
An even simpler way to dress up with Greenery without feeling like the Jolly Green Giant is by adding the color to your manicure. Host your own mani-pedi party to offer an “oh-so-alive” edge to your nails this year.
